On Sunday I went to the monthly meetup of the Central Ohio Photo Group and had a blast meeting other photographers. As it turns out, however, most photographers are not as supremely egotistical as I am, so I spent most of the time modeling and being told that I should do this more often. (Yes, please feed my narcissism!)

It was also humbling at the same time to let go of creative control (and my considerable vanity) and serve my fellow photographers without badgering them about whether I look good in the pictures. But in the end, I got the headshots I needed and some people, at least, got some portfolio shots, and hopefully everyone had fun, so in my book, everyone wins.

In college, I would model occasionally for photographer friends and had a lot of fun seeing the images they came up with and I think that has helped me develop as a photographer now. Posing (and hamming) comes very naturally to me as a model, which I think helps me coach subjects and compose photos better. Or at least that’s what I tell myself.
So I didn’t get to take too many pictures myself, but as usual I am shooting at funny angles and through sparkly objects in the name of being artsy and pretentious. Yay!

Not a multiple exposure, just schlocked together in Photoshop.
